The AILF Legal Action Center advocates for fundamental fairness in U.S. immigration law and protects the legal rights of noncitizens. The LAC engages in impact litigation, identifies due process issues, analyzes and comments on statutes, regulations and case law affecting noncitizens, and provides technical support for attorneys litigating due process and fairness issues in immigration.

- New BIA Policy Shortening Briefing Schedule
Effective August 14, 2006, the BIA is reducing the time period granted for a briefing extension from 21 to 15 days for detained persons with cases before the BIA. CLINIC AILF, the CAIR Coalition, and the National Immigration Project are submitting the attached letter objecting to this new policy.
