Dr. Nicolaides received her undergraduate, masters, and medical degrees from Columbia University. Her medical degree was completed in 1987 at Columbia’s College of Physicians & Surgeons. Dr. Nicolaides completed a residency in internal medicine at the New York Presbyterian Hospital in 1990, after which she obtained a three-year fellowship at the same hospital. She is certified by both the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Internal Medicine in Nephrology. After several outstanding academic appointments throughout her career, Dr. Nicolaides currently serves as the Associate Clinical Member at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, and as the Assistant Professor of Medicine at Cornell University Medical College. In addition to her many hospital appointments, Dr. Nicolaides now serves as the Associate Attending Physician at the Memorial Hospital for Cancer & Allied Diseases. Dr. Nicolaides is a member of numerous scientific and medical societies, some of which include the New York Academy of Sciences, the American College of Physicians, and the Hellenic Medical Society of New York. She has done extensive research support as well - from the American Heart Association, to Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, to her current work with Regeneron Pharmaceuticals at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Additionally, Dr. Nicolaides has done many teaching activities. She presently serves as a tutor and lecturer at Cornell University, as well as Attending Guest at several New York area conferences. Dr. Nicolaides has written many abstracts, chapters, and peer-reviewed papers in leading
journals. She is fluent in Greek, her native language.
