David Feherty has enjoyed an extremely successful professional career in golf, with ten victories worldwide and having won over $3 million in prize money. Feherty turned professional in 1976 and has since spent fourteen years on the PGA European Tour and five years on the U.S. PGA Tour. While on the European Tour he had victories at the Italian Open (play-off) and Bell's Scottish Open (play-off) in 1986. Other victories include the ICL International in 1984, the Lexington PGA Championship in 1988, and the BMW International Open in 1989. He ranked fourth in the British Open in 1989 and in 1990 was the Captain of the winning Irish Team in the Dunhill Cup.

In 1991 he won the Credit Lyonnais Cannes Open and was a member of the European Ryder Cup team, as well as a winning member of a six-man ASAHI European Team in Japan. Mr. Feherty represented Ireland in 1985-86 and 1990-91 in the Dunhill Cups and in the 1990 World Cup.

In 1997 he retired from professional golf and is now an acclaimed golf commentator for CBS Sports. Feherty is also an accomplished author, currently writing a monthly column for GOLF Magazine and a bi-weekly column for Golfonline.com. At the moment he is working on a book about a fictional golf club in the U.K.

Feherty was born in Bangor, Northern Ireland and originally wanted to be an opera singer. At age seventeen he decided to become a golfer and ever since has dedicated his life to that pursuit. He now lives in Texas with his wife and children.

Feherty is presently most well-known for his position as an analyst for CBS Sports Golf Telecast where he brings a unique humor and wit to the game. He has enlivened golf broadcasting since changing career modes and says his goal is to encourage people to remember that golf is fun, to entertain them, to make them smile. Golf fans and critics often refer to him as "the Class Clown of Commentary" and "Golf's Ultimate Wise Guy." Overall, David Feherty is someone who has and is continuing to impact the sport of golf in this nation and throughout the world.
